Here is the next chapter, Chapter 6, on the Kyrie fugue. Whilst Nowak’s famous article on the instrumentation of this movement is now over 40 years old, the orchestration of this movement has received relatively little attention in recent edition-completions. This chapter gives the background for my ground breaking version.
